Experience
I have 6+ years experience teaching and tutoring students with disabilities, homeschool students, international students, and refugees in both Sandpoint and Seattle. I am TEFL/TESOL certified and recently completed 2 years teaching at a Turkish university funded by a prestigious Fulbright grant. I received over 700 points on each section of the SAT and understand the nuances of college admission as well as applications for various academic grants and scholarships. I completed a writing intensive honors program at SPU and enjoy the challenge of teaching solid academic writing. I look forward to working with students on application materials and test preparation. I specialize in Social Sciences and English and have extensive university experience culminating in a multi-disciplinary social science honors thesis about women's social roles in Turkey. I was selected for Teach For America, a highly-selective program placing students with exceptional leadership ability in underprivileged schools around America. I have received PRAXIS scores (for teacher certification) in the top 15th percentile of all test takers for K-8 general studies and high school social studies.
